$24 an hour is not over paid. I’m sorry. But most people can be a teacher. There is a difference between a teacher and a good teacher. But pretty much any one can be/become a teacher. Wages are on skill. And there’s not that much skill to just being a teacher.

Not sure what you are going for here. It’d be great if teachers were paid based on how well they did their job, but that’s something that is very difficult to assess since all students and backgrounds are different.

Your logic is sort of odd. By your account, we should make the teaching job more attractive and rewarding for good teachers. In turn, you can weed out bad teachers and improve the overall level of education. How do you go about doing that?

This mentality is why our schools pretty much suck.

Is there any other "profession" where good, bad, and average are all paid about the same?

Of course, teachers give up the "profession" argument when they want a union. Being part of a union means you are just a laborer, not a professional.
