See, this is my thing. It almost feels entitled for someone to "skip the line" by calling me instead of emailing with what they need. If I stopped every time someone wanted something, I'd never finish anything. I know because my poor boss can't ever work on something without being interrupted 900 times due to calls

Fortunately, I've "trained" most clients to always email. I live 2 hours ahead of them, which most have figured out. The way my job works, I have to really dig deep for whatever someone is calling me about 90% of the time.. so its not something I would do on the phone to begin with. Better to give me the info up front in typed format and let me gather it together for you.

If I read all of the emails I get in a given day, it would easily consume more than half of my day and pull me away from projects that have timelines associated with them. I probably get 150 non-spam emails per day.
