This is just so disappointing. The rumor was a 300 million budget for the first season. Just give a blank check to Mike and Bryan, because unlike Dumb and Dumber, they’d put that check to good use. Let them do whatever they wanted. While Netflix might not have a relationship with China yet, they may have that goal, and with Avatar being an overt middle finger to the CCP, I think that may have been the deal breaker. They have no intentions of putting their universe aside for the money. Hopefully they’ll at least give them cash to make another animated series with complete creative freedom. Could be a blessing in disguise if Netflix lets them make another animated series with no major oversight.
