That’s not possible for everyone and you know it. There aren’t that many jobs out there that provide healthcare. In the end, I believe we have a Christian obligation to take care of each other.

You need to get out more.

There are plenty of companies that offer healthcare.

I have never worked for a company that didn't have healthcare.

You might have to move.

Healthcare is not an issue for me either so that’s not the point. There are lots of jobs with healthcare. There are also lots of jobs without it as well. Those jobs still need to be done so even if everyone is educated as can be there would still be jobs without healthcare.

You wrote “I have never worked for a company that didn’t offer healthcare.” Okay...you want a cookie?

Well, you don’t get a cookie. The only way you get a cookie is if you say, “hmmm, here’s what I think I know...but let me check. Because I may be wrong. And the last thing I want to do is spread falsehoods.” But you didn’t do that. You offered personal (limited) experience. And you were rude to the original poster in an attempt to shut him down. Clearly, you need to read more. Or, like, Google when you don’t actually know something. Or, dare I repeat your smug attack, get out more.

Speaking based on your own limited experience doesn’t make something true. So, what is true here?

Looking at a 2018 Census Bureau report... LINK
1 out of every 11 people (9% or 26+ million) have no form of healthcare.
56% of people have employer sponsored health insurance

We could do some additional
Googling and find out that
11 of the 20 professions with the highest shares of workers who don’t have health insurance are in construction. 50% for roofers, drywall, etc. I mean, how could you know, though, unless you got out more. Or, like, decided to check whether what you thought you knew was true. Nah, it’s easier to be smug on a message board.

At the end of the day, I too care that tens of millions of my fellow Americans don’t have healthcare. And that others who do have it have to worry about losing it or have gaps in coverage when they switch jobs. I see this as a moral failing of our country and those who ignore the needs of their neighbors. And as a true patriot, I will fight for this failing to be corrected.

I worked for a company that specifically quit offering healthcare coverage for employees because of Obamacare rules and regulations.
