It was 1975/76, Scholz did the album on a Tascam tape machine with only 8 tracks, there was no computer, Pro Tools or any type of digital stuff to program, most professional studios of the day only had 24 track 2” tape machines. Part of the characteristic of the sound of the album is the result of taking multiple tracks of instruments and vocals and mixing them to a single track to free up some of the 8 tracks available for additional recording.
