The only "issues"you could possibly have with Wade is that he got caught over a barrel in a tapped phone call. I hope you aren't like irish in regards to Wade/LSU being too dirty for your taste. If so, you might want to start rooting for Mcneese or someone else at that level. And I bet they cut corners in recruiting also. That's how the sausage is made in the world of big-time recruiting, ESPECIALLY in college basketball.

The issue I have with Will Wade is that he was either to arrogant or to ignorant to have somebody else either talk on the phone on his behalf or have the damn conversation in person. His inexperience and/or ignorance about how to convey a 'damn strong offer' is what got him in trouble. The only difference between Will Wade and Coach K (or almost any other coach) is that Coach K doesn't do it in a manner where he can be recorded.

But how do you know that?

The fact that we have never heard K on a phone call doesn't mean that he has never done it. If I were a betting man, I would say that over the 40+ years he has coached that he has done it at some point and plenty of times. He just didn't get caught or have someone tap the call.

I mean, before all this FBI stuff, how many times had you ever heard of a coach, assistant or head, on a recorded phone call say something, period? My guess is probably never. But does that mean that none of them ever had those types of calls in the history of college basketball? Hell no!

Should Wade have done what he did? No. But he also had no reason to believe that the FBI was listening in on the call either and he just happened to be one of the unlucky ones to get caught. Doesn't automatically make him any worse or dumber than any other head coach that plays the recruiting game.
