I lived in Charlotte about 20 years ago. I didn’t find it soulless then, but it did seem to be in an identity crisis. I lived in Myers Park(in a sweet garage apartment at a doctors house) so my perception may have been off. A lot of the long time residents near me still thought if Charlotte as a “small” town.

I really enjoyed Charlotte. I moved there front Atlanta and enjoyed it much more than Atlanta. People in Charlotte were a lot friendlier.
