I went with a guide a few years ago on a trout and tripletail trip to Lake Borgne. We ran the crab trap lines. He’d make a loop back around when we spotted one. We trolled within casting distance and would free line a shrimp. We caught several that way . I got the impression that was the normal way he fished them.
