That's incredibly unethical, and it does not equal a study saying it works. It equals a researcher saying it works without having the study conclusion.

I took it to mean that previous studies discounting its effectiveness were in-patient, and had issues as far as when it was given, co-morbidities present, etc. that skewed the results. The new study is for early treatment, outpatient. No argument here that giving it late in the course of the illness has proven to be ineffective.

I will say anecdotally that my 88yo Mamaw with h/o dialysis for years and multiple hospitalizations for pneumonia. She contracted covid in April, developed pneumonia with very low O2 stats and was hospitalized at East Jefferson for 10 days. She received azythromycine, hydroxychloroquine, and oxygen and kicked its arse.
