This is an attempt to at least try to surgically craft policy to actual areas of elevated COVID risk.
Instead we’re doing this the JBE way “wait, a bunch of kids are making each other mildly sick at college clubs? Let’s shut down Bob’s corner tavern in bumfrick LA. That’ll show those 14 guys who are there everyday”

I enjoy that any measure proposed is shredded for not instantly curing Covid and instead just reducing risk... by the same people saying let’s take reasonable measures so we can reopen.

Exactly. However, we still seem to get so many people complaining about "why this and not this" when the regulations do actually have a lot of logic.
NY recently enacted an ordinance that bars could only serve drinks to customers who were eating. People ridiculed the plan and acted as though bars now serving $1 fries or hot dogs was foiling the ordinance.
But, you know what: everyone is now sitting at a table with spacing to "fake" eat $1 fries instead of socializing in large groups which was the exact design of the plan.
