time for my weekly bashing of aTm and/or texags....

apparently, texas a&m fans think they have a shot at randall carrol. the same randall carrol whos committed to SC, and from southern california. i couldnt make this shite up if i tried
quote:

we have a serious, legit chance of landing this kid if we can get him on a visit.
and they speak of kyle field like its fricking graceland or something. im sure its a wonderful gameday experience...... for teams who go 7-5 and get blown out by the conference champion every year. better luck with the next recruit, aggie

heres the link, you wouldnt believe me unless you actually read it yourself....

Be afraid. It's going to be a dogfight until NSD for Chris Davenport's signature as well.

God, what is up with that fanbase over there? At least USC/OSU fans can be proud of their program. How many times was A&M a truly powerhouse program? Unless I'm missing something, because I was born in the 80s lol.

Be careful of what you wish for, I hear they might have employed street agents to recruit kids.

ummm.. two posters on texfags think we have a legit shot. The others do not. If you want to judge our fanbase by texfags, go right ahead, but its not a true picture. Scout and Rivals are a lot more bearable.

Some Facts:

He is committed to USC.

He's from LA.

A&M is getting his last visit.

It has been documented that he'd like to get away from SoCal because of behavioral troubles.

He had a personal relationship with A&M's WR coach before he got to A&M.

Sherman has been calling this kid every chance he gets.

Now, what are the chances of him coming to A&M? Probably 10-20%. But he is giving us a serious look. I love how you paint the picture of "all A&M fans think he is coming to A&M".... that's hardly the truth.

Dude, seriously...you have no idea. It's so much worse than you think.

I used to frequent college station (unfortunately), and everytime I was there, I felt like I was amongst the Heaven's Gate cult members hours before their mass suicide....except everyone was doing super-gay chants and playing dominos.

When it comes to their queer arse traditions, the mental status of not just the fanbase, but 90% of the students and alumni, is absolutely the most abhorent things I've ever had the misfortune of having to stomach.

been there... done that... don't want the t-shirt. Kyle Field is a weird place. If you love sheep and goats and cattle... this is the place for you!

yes, the yell leader are extremely gay.

Everything you are hyping on has to do with the corps ROTC group.

There are 45000 other students outside the corps that make up A&M. Unfortunately the 1500 corps guys get way too much air time.

Wow.

And I know the entire fanbase isn't like that. Just when you read their forums they have to be the most delusional fanbase I've ever seen. Its pure comedy to read their boards. I do it rarely but when I need a good laugh, I go over there. Its funny that a lot of their fans have a attitude towards football and recruiting, among other things. Especially since TAMU had only a few years of being worth anything, they act like they're a elite program like OSU/USC

Hell, at least Bama fans can brag on tradition, was their ever a decade where TAMU was even amazing?

We were 60-4 at home in the 90s. We averaged 10 wins from 85-94. Won 7 conference championships from 85 to 2000. Three top 10 finishes.

I wasn't comparing A&M to LSU. I'm not that foolish. For the record, LSU is my 2nd favorite team as I have family down there and friends who have attended there. I enjoy coming down once a year for a game.

The guy asked if A&M has ever been good? That question tells me he hasn't followed college football that long. We are 19th in all time wins and have good success. We are in a down period like LSU was in the 90s. The roles have been reversed.

I certainly don't act like A&M is elite status, but we are better than average historically. Our down years have averaged 7 wins. Our good years, we post 10-11 wins. The difference between LSU and A&M historically is MNCs. LSU has 3, A&M has 1. You guys don't choke in the big game!
