Why are some Shield cheaper then others?

There's several different models.

Original Shield
Shield Mod 2.0 (2nd generation)
Shield with safety
Shield w/o safety
Shield with built in laser
Shield Competition Series

The cheapest is going to be the OG Shield. But even though it's a 1st Gen, it's still a highly regarded carry pistol.

I’m pretty sure they started introducing trigger improvements to the Shield that they ended up using in all the M&P 2.0. I did a Burwell trigger job on my 9 compact (1.0) and it made noticeable improvements. When I cracked into my Shield 1.0 to do the same, the seat already had the newer profile, pretty much a knock-off of the Apex sear. I got my son a Shield 2.0 and there’s not much difference between our triggers at all. There’s a little, but it’s nothing compared to shooting a full size 1.0. vs a 2.0.
