I carry a Xd9 sub compact and love it
BUT I paid for a shield EZ performance center yesterday after getting my first "delay" in my life.
This one
It feels so good in my hand. lighter (less rounds) than my XD and just fits a little better.
Now I'll probably have to wait until Wednesday to pick it up

OP,
I'd go with a Shield at that price. I have shot 3-4K rounds through mine. I had trouble with one magazine, but once I figured that out, it's shot every time I've pulled the trigger. Buy 4-6 extra magazines, or you'll get tired of loading them at the range. At some point get an Apex trigger installed.
