Look into Estes Park Colorado. The YMCA resort has a ton of activities for kids and you are pretty close to Denver and Boulder.
I just did this with a 2 year old. We stayed a couple nights at YMCA of the Rockies, and 3 nights in downtown Estes Park. We enjoyed the town more than YMCA, but there were alot of Covid restrictions in place at the YMCA.
Highly recommend a good kid carrying backpack to carry your child on hikes. Osprey, Deuter, Kelty, etc. Maybe you can find a lightly used one.
