Eastern Oklahoma is really, really depressing to drive through: one casino after another, surrounded by scrubby trees and dirt that may culminate in the ugliest scenery in the whole country. Then you hit OKC, and after that, it's mile after mile of empty prairie. If you're looking for something in Oklahoma, Texas does it better
The frick? I've driven all through Oklahoma and eastern Oklahoma is the only part of that state that's scenic. There's the Ouchitah mountains and parts of the Ozarks mts and foot hills further north. Beavers bend state park in extreme south east Oklahoma is gorgeous. It's about 30ish Miles north of texarkana texas.

Yeah Eastern Oklahoma is actually really beautiful in most places, but there are definitely some extremely poor towns (usually associated with indian reservations) that are just downright depressing. OKC and Tulsa are both nice cities though. I think the point of living in Oklahoma, at least for me, is that it's cheap to live here which means I can visit fun places with the extra money I save

I'd like to hear more opinions about Nebraska though, as I'm moving there in about a month. So far the reviews have not been stellar...
