I am not talking about the most significant i.e. the national championship games, but as far as a fan's standpoint on quality of football. One of the best games I have ever watched had to be that 97 LSU/FLA game. That is my all time favorite game.

97 UF was great because LSU knocked off #1. As far as overall, Florida and Auburn this year are top 5. UGA in 2003 and the Earthquake game round it out for me personally.

I think you have to have 1997 Florida at the top, but some other nominees are:

1972 Ole Miss
1988 Auburn
2001 SEC Championship
2003 Georgia
2003 Ole Miss
2005 Alabama
2006 Tennessee
2007 Florida, Auburn

Florida this year. Great battle by two great teams with an amazing finish. A game that lived up to the hype.

LSU-UF is college football. If you showed the game to any person who didn't like college football, they'd be hooked for life.

LSU - Georgia 2003(in regular SEC play - not the SECC) The go ahead TD Mauck to Skyler. Corey Webster with the pick with less than a minute to go. I think it was a record crowd at the time (could fail on that). Anyway that game gave us the confidence that we could win it all. And gave me an opporunity to get completely schnockered for all the right reasons.

I must be the old man of the group, but one of the best overall performances was actually a loss during my freshman year at LSU during the fall of 1979. USC comes to town ranked #1 with the likes on the team as Charles White at tailback, Marcus Allen at fullback, Anthony Munoz on the offensive line and Ronnie Lott as one of their defensive backs. Any way if not for a mythological face mask call on Benjy Thibodeaux LSU wins the game. Even in the loss, without a doubt , definitely one of the Best LSU games I have ever witnessed.

I've always loved the 1999 Arkansas game when we upset them the last game of the season. Had an awesome time.

The greatest game from an LSU quality standpoint had to be the 48-7 mauling of Va Tech....that was the most dominating display of football i've ever seen by LSU against another top 10 team, on offense (over 600 yds) and defense (maybe 150 yds total).

There's many, many, but if I have to choose just one, I think my all time favorite would be the 1969 Auburn game.
