You’re probably dead on about that. I think the Clinton Impeachment was probably the first fissure that led to the 2000 mess but that’s semantics. It just seemed like from 2000 on tribalism became increasing prevalent each year.

The 90’s really laid the groundwork for the division we have now. Shared daily experiences like Johnny Carson gave way to national stories that divided us like OJ & Lewinsky.
