The confirmed presence of the virus shouldn't land someone on the death toll. Only if its the cause of death.

That coding goes on cause of death. It’s not an automatic addition just for a positive test. It’s up to the judgement of the doctor/coroner.

My point was the high percentage that had lab confirmed COVID was related why it’s easier to pin an exact number.

As opposed to U07.2, which is death due to presumed positive COVID(and the associated statistics like with ILI)
