The problem with the democratic party is there is no real promotion system going on. Meaning many of the governors and mayors are able to get elected by being a lunny toon. The problem is, once you get up on the national stage they can't hide... the exposure at the state level is not even close to being as high.

This is leading to candidates that don't have to work to get better i.e. weak candidates. And the act just doesn't work national.

I mean, who would have thought 5 years ago that Trump would look like the sane person in the room? But that is exactly what is going on.
