You didn’t own slaves, nor did you ride with the KKK. You should not have to apologize for the people who did these things, nor should you apologize for being white.

Bigpete’s point is that everyone should be treated with the same courtesy. The guy who made a comment about “blacks overplaying their hand” used the actions of one thug to make a statement on the collective mentality of 42 million people.

If someone had said “what is wrong with white people???” in response to Dylann Roof’s actions, you’d feel the same way and you’d be right.
