Exactly

I grew up on the border, I remember back before shite hit the fan (9/11, cartels, etc) we would go on field trips into Mexico. I remember seeing a fricking bloated arse dead guy floating face down in the river. A guy i went to hs with is still in jail for human trafficking. People fricking die to get in this country. It’s far from perfect but it’s also far from the despot wasteland people make it out to be. Social injustice and inequality and police brutality and profiling is definitely real but some of these people need a reality check when it comes to just how bad things could be.

I mean just look at the horror stories you hear in this game: John Obi Mikel’s dad getting kidnapped, players families in mexico and Brazil getting kidnapped, look at what Enes Kanter’s family has been thru in Turkey (they finally released his dad). You hear about guys going back to Africa and the poverty and disease they encounter. I admire him for speaking up on his platform, but quitting the usmnt doesn’t do shite to solve any of the aforementioned issues

It always struck me as ironic when people got mad that Trump called some countries shitholes (probably a poor choice of words diplomatically), while talking up how awesome those countries are, and then those same people turn around and say how bad America is. If the US is so bad, why are people leaving those countries to come to the US?
