Dimension, Snapshot, Preen are choices to consider but no pre-emergent containing Atrazine, also recognize that pre-emergent won’t control perennial weeds, nutsedge and oxalis being a common ones, at least in my beds.
If you add pre-emergent do all your mulching first, spread herbicide over mulch and water it in. You want to minimize walking activity in the beds after applying the herbicide so as not to break the herbicide barrier.
A good layer of mulch is the best weed preventer, 3 to 4 inches, if using pine straw.
