Some speculation they may do an 8 team format, or octagonal. This is weird, because the format they were debating with the three groups of four (which apparently got scrapped) was considered because of a decreased number of fixtures available because of Covid. The format they are considering now with 8 teams will result in more games than a regular hex

I wonder if there were issues with teams in the 9-12 range not being financially available to field teams.
