why do you think the number has a bearing on whether it will be a thing? If you have children under the age of 20 they are going to live to see a country that has virtually no cars that people drive

Yes, there are a lot of trucks on the roads.
There will be people who will take the risk for more money.
At the same time someone will have to pay that cost.
That means the consumer in cities will pay higher cost for goods.
