The smart thing would be to first offer season ticket holders the option to opt out for the year. A decent percentage will take them up on that offer because of all of the bullshite going on.


Are you talking about bullshite with the virus or politics? I remember half of this board swore the phones at the ticket off were ringing off the hook with people asking for refunds last year but yet no one gave their tickets up.

Politics

People don't want to give up their tickets permanently. They worry about not being able to get them back. If they "opt out" because, for example, the superdome is only going to be 50% anyway, a lot of people will happily take this option.

I think the best option for the NFL is to split the game package among the season ticket holders (4 instead of 8) because there is real risk of people not missing the games especially when confronted with the political BS going on.

Even from a virus standpoint there may be a percentage that do not feel comfortable about being in the stadium. If that were say, 10-15%., that would at least eliminate some from the "lottery."
