One of the ringleaders of the opposition is Rick Smith, former councilman and recent failed mayoral candidate who literally lives one house off the corner of the proposed school time closure. He is currently running for the council again. If he wins, will it be considered a conflict of interest if he votes on the matter given his personal stake in the outcome?

So NOT currently on the council means he has no say. That means no conflict of interest. The CURRENT council member in question DID have a vote on the matter. To me, that IS a conflict of interest. You have an ax to grind with Rick Smith, fine. But I intentionally didn’t name the council member you are defending. FWIW, your defense is weak and anyone with any integrity can see that you are deflecting.
Based on your take, I wouldn’t be surprised if you think the Del Porto lady was “honest, but just misunderstood due to inexperience and a lack of political tact “

Did not happen = more deflection.

The AG said the council has the legal authority to grant the measure.

Okay...and?

If it passes the net effect on the general public outside of the school will be nil.

According to your opinion. Those who will be filing suit obviously have a different opinion.

And here is the crux of the matter...

TLDR

The only money Aquistapaces stands to lose from this is the lost business from those who will no longer shop there because of the position they have taken.

So the generous local business is the “bad guy” here?

GTFO with this BS.

To my knowledge, the leadership at the school, the store owners. and the city are working to resolve this.

Whoa... You ok bro? Based on this triggering I wouldn't be surprised if you ARE the Del Porto lady lol. I said he was running for council and my question was, if he were to win and the matter came before him for a vote, would it be a conflict? It was a hypothetical. This means its a scenario that hasn't actually come to fruition and the question is based on the proposed premise. Everything I stated is factual and your responses indicate you don't know as much about the situation as you think you do. Or you are lying.

Chill.
