quote:
1) End no-knock raids.
2) Move police liability insurance to the police budget and make it part of a package of funding.
3) Disincentive municipalities and counties to use ticket/court revenue as funding mechanisms.
4) State-level prosecutor to investigate and prosecute police use-of-force.
I like these.
I would add - a serious effort to weed out the bad apples in the process of hiring/training. It can't be an accident that all the douchebag wannabe tough guys you went to school with went into law enforcement. I'm not saying all of law enforcement is made up of them (they're a distinct minority, but are shielded by the brotherhood), but the good cops/administrators need to boot these guys tf out before they're ever issued a badge.

In almost every egregious instance of police use-of-force cases, the officer was either fired from another department or had many red flags that demonstrated that they shouldn’t be doing the job.
