one main problem is accepting the premise of police "brutality." law enforcement has countless interactions with people every day yet, less than 1000 are fatally shot per year. in 2018, 992 people were fatally shot nationally by leo. 451 were white. 229 were black.

multiple cities have enacted severe restrictions on how leo can operate, such as baltimore and nyc. that has led to leo basically ceding certain neighborhoods.

multiple da's have told police depts that they are not going to prosecute certain crimes under a certain dollar amount, such as $750 in dallas. that has led leo to not even bother responding to certain calls.

put all that together and leo across the country are exercising incredible restraint in dealing with issues they face every day. this is while they are being targeted and even ambushed. it's astonishing that people have allowed this narrative to even get off the ground

Did Chauvin do what he did to Floyd because he was black? I must have missed this being declared as the reason.
