yeah here's how i see it:

yankees: rich kid who gets all the coolest toys and buys a huge volcano model to beat you in the science fair and then rubs it in your face, even though you are supposed to be friends

red sox: the cool kid but not the douchey "cool" kid, he beats up the rich kid for being the douchey "cool" kid, and is the most loyal friend you have

Red Sox, the people I could go out and have fun with, and actually want to like.

Yanks, just looking at their uptight facade makes me angry, kinda like a guido.

OK somebosy has to go with the Bombers. I hate the Red Sox. THEY are more arrogan than the Yanks but I like Francona and respect him

First, I was born and raised right in between both cities. About an hr and a half from Boston, and an hr and 45 mins from NYC.

Second, I am a die-hard Red Sox fan. Have been my entire life. Since I moved down here, I have started to follow the Astros religiously as well (really no relevance but thought I'd mention it).

Third, and as far as the fans go, I think most in this thread have it wrong. Both teams have their "rich" type fans; both urban centers have extremely wealthy suburbs.

However, Boston fans are seemingly more down to earth. Kind of the let-loose type of person, which the team makeup accurately represents. At the same time, though, Red Sox fans are the more obnoxious. We never do anything classy. This could be because the city of Boston is, by and large, a glorified college town. The make-up of the city is very young. A young person will not appreciate good baseball as much as an older person will, especially if the other team is playing it. Thus, Yankees fans are far more classy than we are. They show respect and class to their opposing team. They respect us, but we do not respect them. It's a shame, really.

They're both overhyped. They're why I'm pulling for the Rays
