What tlsu is saying is pretty good...although I would add one caveat I ran into in college and after.
I would try to find something with a 1TB SSD. Storage demands these days are pretty up there and I've would think about that. 512GB is a solid start, but I'm not sure if you can add an SSD to Macs.
