It was definitely a pretty decent possibility. People act like he had no shot, but McMillan was the best looking QB in the 2018 spring game. I remember watching on TV hoping for Brennan to shine, but it just wasn't happening at that time. O said it was a fact that McMillan looked the best, he talked about how he had been at LSU, how he was older and was playing with the most confidence, and he mentioned how he extended plays with his feet.

They obviously didn't think Brennan was ready, so that's why they went and looked for a transfer QB. If Burrow wouldn't have come, it was between McMillan and Brennan.

It ain't like LSU was consistently fielding great college QBs before Burrow. And while McMillan might not have been the best, I have to give the guy a lot of credit for going to lowly Tulane and actually helping to turn their pathetic program around. He led them to only their 5th and 6th bowl wins of all time and scored a lot of TDs passing and running for them over the last two years. I was impressed with what he did with them (considering it's Tulane talent we're talking about).
