Let's be clear here.

I've looked into the timelines and facts of Loeffler's stock situation and I came away with the conclusion that it's nowhere near enough for her to be concerned about legal jeopardy.

The reason why Richard Burr is in deep shite is because he personally handled the stock transactions himself like a real idiot.

The other senators have multiple layers of protection between them and their stock portfolios.

The problem for Loeffler is that she's an awkward millionaire that did not handle it well and the timing of the story came at the worst possible time for her with a pandemic where people are losing their jobs and she's a brand new senator and people don't know her.

There's something to be said about Doug Collins jumping into the race three weeks after Kemp appoints Loeffler.

It came off as sour grapes and he instantly made the race much more competitive than it needed to be.

I agree she was never in legal danger but her political career is on life support with it. She wasn’t all that well liked before then she does that and her defense is flimsy and we both know in the court of public opinion she is doomed with it. It’s such small potatoes of their wealth but it gives Collins ammo and his supporters ammo and something that won’t be forgiven.

I agree Collins isn’t blameless in this since he stirred it up with his sour grape action, but Kemp and Loeffler should have had a meeting after her hand was caught in the inside trading cookie jar. She isn’t a strong enough politician to play it off and win any of Collins supporters. She should have withdrawn from the race that day.

I get where kemp was going with appointing her trying to win the women in Cobb county and such but it’s going to suppress vote up in the northern counties even without Collins.

The sad part is the ga gop is usually much better than this but it’s starting to become la with this race.
