Likely fake. Most executives would have fired her instead or left things alone.
IF it is real a few possibilities
- husband is a passive aggressive control freak
- boss is nailing her
- it was a demotion, just because the pay is the same the job is not the same nor as important. Important jobs come with stress,, its just part of it.
The guy is a total loser either way.
