Paul Romer, a Nobel Prize-winning economist, envisions a day when all Americans are tested regularly for COVID-19, and they present proof when dining out or visiting a dentist.
Michael Osterholm, director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota, said if a "big peak" of coronavirus floods hospitals this winter, "We have the potential here to go through days we have not seen since World War II ... As a nation, we will not be ready."

Jesus.
So what do you do if you didn't catch it? You can't do anything? You can't dine out? You can't go to the dentist?
I fail to see how these things will work. You will have people intentionally infecting themselves.
As far as the big peak this winter, wtf? Do people ever get tired of being wrong?
I honestly thought we were going to get a better handle on this than we did. The cdc totally fricked the response.
However, I thought we would have a vaccine in four months back in late march. That give us till August.
I suspect we will have one in the fall. I will say Trump wants one by the fall so schools and everything opens up as it should. I wouldn't count him out. We are fast tracking multiple vaccines as of now. And we are already mass producing a number of the most likely vaccines just in case one works. We aren't going to wait to see which one is going to be the best, we are making a bunch of them.
That way as soon as we figure out which ones work, they will be out. Now waiting to ramp up production.

Yup. Tells you all you need to know about this crap. We flattened the curve long ago, except in the NYC area, yet we are still being held hostage.
At least let us live our lives for a few months before all the death rains down upon us in January.
