Help me with trolling motor battery wiring

I just picked up a bass boat with a 24-volt motor guide trolling motor but did not have batteries. There are three wires coming from the trolling motor to batteries, 2 reds and a black with 1 jumper wire in the back.
I have always had 2 wires coming from the trolling motor and used the jumper. How exactly are the 3 wires from t/m hooked up?

Do you have a switch to toggle between 12 and 24 volts? With 3 wires you should be able to run either.

Only switch on pedal is a 3-way switch for off/T/non-stop

2 reds and a black plus a jumper? What are you calling the jumper? You have a picture?

It had a 12/24v trolling motor on it. Just make sure the 24V pin on your TM harness matches the 24V pin on the boat

I’m calling the jumper the wire jumping from pos of one battery to neg of other battery. aka: the black line between two batteries in your drawing.

I'm not sure why you would have 3 wires. Is the other one for bow lights or something? Should just be two or four big arse wires.

I think your diagram is the answer. I do not have a 12/24 toggle switch but I do have 2 pos wires coming from trolling motor plug

Unass all that shite, run a hot and a ground from the bow to the batteries, do the jumpers at the batteries, and put a breaker on the hot at the last battery before it goes to the front
