frick, even 90s into early 2000s was fun. Being dropped off a couple hours early for a movie then roaming around with friends, hit the arcade before/after.

Going to see a movie at the mall with you’re friends and spending a couple hours before and after at the arcade and food court was awesome.

AOL Instant Messenger and the Internet accelerated the death of the malls and the ruination of America’s youth but CNN’s National 24hr news network is what really started and eventually drove the nail into the coffin.

It’s what made moms in Kansas think a random isolated incident in Californian directly affected their kids. It’s what’s responsible for helicopter parenting and the bubble wrapped generation. And it’s tragic how that shaped our society.
