Good for them beating the data, but anyone who says they knew O would be good from a football perspective is probably lying.
Weird way to admit you were wrong. But ok

Nothing weird about it. Of course I was wrong about O (however Brady and Aranda are big outliers. This season will be telling).
But again, there was literally no evidence, no view of that hire - his record and results, DP, his domestic abuse thing, his lack of interest from any P5 school, his lack of really coaching one side of the ball, all of the bad Ole Miss press, etc. Nothing pointed to him being the guy you wanted in charge of a multi-million dollar football program.
He had no history that pointed to him being a good head coach, and his only stop was a disaster with no other chances after. That's how bad of a program he ran. No one else heard anything from the inside of the program that would have said "He's still a solid hire." Nothing.
The only way to view it was a step up (a lateral view of the hire was probably the best way to look at it), was to take all evidence and results off the table and look at it from another perspective - Louisiana, wanting ANYTHING different from Miles, etc.
