Snapper are super easy to catch. Get some bait, damn near anything will work. Squid, pogies, mullet, crabs, Bonita, white trout, it all works. Red snapper will be found in waters from 60’ all the way out to the continental shelf. Pick a rig, pull up to it, drop baits to the bottom, reel up a few cranks and wait. You will start to feel them picking at the bait. You should be using a circle hook so when one has it point the rod down towards the fish and start reeling not too fast. As the line becomes tight keep reeling and lift the rod tip up. Once he is on there fight him like normal. If no bites near the bottom reel up a few cranks. Sometimes the bigger fish are up a ways in the rig. Sometimes up current or down current or you just have to bounce around from rig to rig until you find them. There you go, snapper fishing 101
