I was recently called back to work, full time, although at a reduced salary. Would I still be eligible for unemployment benefits? The state benefits would be minimal, although I was wondering more about the extra $600 stimulus.

I read previously that if you make more money working than you would on unemployment then you should stop filing for benefits. However, I know alot of rules are different as a result of the virus.

Anyone have any thoughts/experience with this? Thanks.

If my employee would refuse to come back, then I would guess they will not have a job after the PPP money is out. You can get unemployment for reduced hours. I do not think you can due to decreased wages.

It depends on what state you're in. Would you be seeing a reduced salary for good or is it temporary?

Doubt you will get unemployment also

You will have to claim the income and for things like severance etc they can get picky

Be careful and do not try to work the system....
They get nasty pretty quickly....
I took a reduction in pay and severance once while the company I worked for was shutting down...

As op said if your reduced salary is more than the unemployment I doubt you will qualify....

In Georgia, you would qualify for unemployment if your hours were reduced. Because they are reducing your pay, you would not qualify for UI. If you were in Georgia and you were me, I would ask them to furlough you to 50% of your salary and then claim UI based on your reduced hours. For your company, they would be saving money on your salary and still get your contribution. You would need to do the numbers to see if this method was higher/lower than your reduced wages.
