That Sierra is a nice looking truck. Do GM products have the same engine shite off tech that Ford has? If so, that is a big negative as I drove a Ford Fusion rental and hated it.
My initial lean is to the Tacoma, but I want to drive everything and enjoy the experience.

Yes, they do. There’s a button to disable but it comes back on after restarting. There is a modification you can install on the back of the switch that will remember the last setting. Just have to pull the dash trim off.
I would expect most new vehicles to have this feature.
GM did improve the cylinder deactivation as well. It’s now random across all 8 cylinders vs the same 4. The new 10 spd is also nice. I have a ‘19 5.3 with the 8 spd.
