Most companies at one point were probably already producing in the US. But then they get tired of being millionaires, want to become billionaires. So they decide to produce it for even cheaper, to improve their profit margin. It has nothing to do with that it actually costs to make. It has everything to do with lining their pocket with as much money as possible.
They didn’t lose any money by China cutting off their supply, China still paid them for it. USA just need to put massive tariffs on all products coming into the USA, that will be the only solution. Unless we make laws that say all medicine, ppe, etc. must be manufactured and sold in the USA.
