so 68000/4= 17,000 a season. How long do you want to consider "flue season"
General November - March? So six months?
They already have over 9000 deaths in a month and a half. and it isn't getting better.
From a statistical point of view this is clearly worse.
Form an anecdotal point of view, you know this doesn't happen in Italy every year.
