Bayou Lacombe is a close option for you. I don't bass fish but it's likely more productive than the tchefuncte. Launch at the original launch not the newer one close to the lake. Go to the right (actually straight if you're standing on the pier). Instead of following the bayou 90 degrees right turn go straight across and there's a smaller bayou that winds back a good ways and lots of structure to fish. There's several smaller offshoots all along the main bayou as well and some cool ponds out close to the lake.

Well hopedale is a no go today so will be trying the river again this evening.
I dont have the equipment to fish deep structure so working the edges and grass beds it is for me.
And correct, if you want to catch go to the beau chene pond's.

Thank you! That’s very helpful. I’ll give that one a try.
