What's going on at Big Lake? They installed gates and closed all access to the management area. Lots of biologists running around there.

Anyone know what's going on? Did they spot an ivory bill woodpecker or something?

it ain't ivory bill related...

gates locked due to flooded roads

if it was FWS would be there too, not just LDWF

Thanks for the update. Seemed strange they installed gates. It floods regularly... they never blocked the road next to the campground before. Also not letting locals go in to fish big lake.

I was told there was a culvert washed out in the rd. They had dug it all out but since the rain we’ve had lately they haven’t finished.
