Leonard is more humble and has been great longer than 3 years lol. Can't believe some idiot think he has only been good for 3 years. My pick is kwahi, he doesn't need to be carried by anyone
Saying he's been great for 3 years isn't anything crazy. You could say he was great in 15-16 to push it up to 4 yrs but that's about it.

Also, Kawhi may be somewhat humble, but let's not forget that he quit on his team and held up free agency while poaching another star to join him on a playoff team.

To OP: Most likely KD unless he falls off a cliff upon return. Way more skilled offensively and very underrated on defense. Not even a knock on Kawhi, but I think people ITT have forgotten how insane KD was on the court.

This is correct. Durant may be a pretty unlikable guy but he is one of the ultra elite offensive players in NBA history.

Honestly he’s like a modern version of Larry Bird in his prime offensively imo

I hope he comes back 100% from the achilles. The Nets could be a really fun team next year

Kawhi averaged 11 PPG in 2013

He averaged 12 PPG in the 2014 season. 17 PPG in the 2014 Finals. Kawhi basically won the Finals MVP for his defense on Lebron that series, when Lebron averaged 28/8/4 on 57% shooting including 51% from 3

But still a starter, pretty much anyone starts is good at basketball and if you actually watched the series. He was locking LeBron down

Nobody says he isn't good. KD is a top 20 all time player. I just think KD is better.

Lol anyone in the NBA is good at basketball. Kawhi was not a “great” player in the association in 2013 or 2014 no matter how you want to slice it

Yep I totally didn’t watch the finals that year

28 PPG on 57% shooting is not being locked down, elite NBA expert BossBailey345

So which is it? First, you said he was great for more than 3yrs and now you're talking about good.

Kawhi was not a great player when he was average 11 and 12 pts for a season.

Kawhi played some great defense but Lebron averaged almost 30 a game with 57%fg 51%3pt

This is tough bc I hate Durant IN A GOOD WAY per his ability to drain key shots in the clutch in the high-stakes games but KLaw's the total package as a player and the GOAT Michael Jordan even called him the best two-way player in the game. Case closed Board Man GETS PAID.

two way player means is a guy is better on
D than O. Considering offense is much more important than D, being a “two way” player doesn’t make one player better than another. Kevin is top 5 all time on offense.

considering KLaw possesses ELITE offensive game to compliment his defensive proficiency, that's a greater compliment to him than as interpreted on its face

relative statement

being a “two way” player doesn’t make one player better than another

admittedly this analysis was really tough because, even though both play the same position, they possess patently different games: KLaw's elite on both sides of the ball moreso defensively and may go down as the greatest defender in NBA history along with Rodman, Jordan, and Pippen whereas KD's an absolute offensive freak and underrated defender. I ultimately chose KLaw over KD because KLaw's more of the total package as a basketball player who can excel both at the perimeter and in the front court and bang with big guys, a true Swiss Army knife, KD's primarily a fluid glider when it comes to his attributes on the court not a true total package. I'll give KD this though: if I'm cheering against his team and it's close, I HATE HIM IN THE CLUTCH bc he always delivers and he's possibly the most unique player in history.
