There was a guy on Medium.com from Silicon Valley that basically said the stats being presented overall did not support all of this panic. The overall take was that this is a race by state and local entitities to show who can be more authoritarian in the name of caution and compassion. The actions taken are way out of proportion.
Does this become the norm once some new bug appears. Are wholesale societal shutdowns something to be expected in our future from time to time?

The shutdowns in the US are being driven by the fear-mongering MSM and the Democratic Overlords trying to rid themselves of OMB.
