Is the sobering, but correct answer. Many, many small businesses will not survive.

Who the f cares? How is this any different than any other time?

50% of restaurants and stores fail within the 1st six months.

Everyone who opened a cupcake shop or alkaline water store has failed when those fads died. How many K-Marts and Toys R Us and Borders failed? All of them.

Does every owner/worker at a failed store commit suicide? Seriously everyone would be dead by now.

Restaurants come they go and new ones pop back up in their place. Bennigans? Roy Rogers? Steak and Ale? Chi-Chi's?

Where are the mass suicides doomsday man?

Thise were slow deaths. Restaurants that were liquid now have a huge cloud of uncertainty above them.

If stores remain closed for several months you will have the effect of some closing due to banks not working with them/ landlords still demanding rental payments. However I don’t see many people after taking chances to open something new for years due to the possible return of Covid 19 in the wintertime. Also possible the locals suffer real economic harm, and realize less disposable income is available in their immediate area thus driving anyone from remotely thinking about opening a new restaurant.
