Buddy if mine bought his house about a year ago. The house next door is rented out by a friend of ours. It’s owned by a woman who lives out of town.

The way the property lines are the drive way is split. So about 75 percent of the driveway is owned by my friend while she has the remainder. He offered to buy the strip, but she didn’t budge. Now she’s pissed because he parks there all the time. Which the rule generally is who ever gets home first can have the drive way.

Is there some kind of legal recourse he can do to acquire the rest of the drive way?

Drill holes in driveway and put up a fence and she can park on her sidewalk wide driveway

Probably not. What he should do is make his side 25% wider that way he is never on her property and he can then say she is trespassing if she parks on his portion of the driveway.

That would be fun.

Scruffy approves.

Why would the woman who lives out of town be pissed? If they’re both friends (‘buddy owner/friend renter) of yours, why don’t you be the mediator?

Buy a piece of shite car for a few hundo. Leave in driveway forever. Follow up with Trump signs in all windows facing the street.

I guess I should have mentioned that. The guy renting is moving out come June. She already has it rented out for when he leaves. Apparently the new tenant is a fatass liberal woman. So the landlords been around a little bit and instigating all this shite about the drive way.

The guy living there now is fine with the parking situation.

I've heard that after being accepted for a number of years (7 yrs?) the recognized boundary is grandfathered and is the de facto new property boundary. Hope someone knowledgeable will chime in.

People can really weird about land.

Those people are generally assholes.

When my mortgage was written years ago, the survey team found that my neighbor added a carport that had encroached on my property about three feet.

I just gave it to them because I’m not a dick.
