Carlos Lee will be there. Clint Hurdle is going to have to choose someone to take Fonsi's place on the roster and Berkman has already said that he wants Carlos to participate and Carlos said he would only do so if he was elected to the team. (An invitation was already extended for him to the HRD)

Hurdle said an MLB official told him that the league's Basic Agreement with the Players' Association stipulates that when an elected starter cannot play, the non-starting player at the same position who received the most votes on the player ballot gets the spot.

Hurdle will also need to name a replacement for Soriano on the team, and he said he will do that after the results of the Monster 2008 All-Star Final Vote are known Thursday night. He said the choice wouldn't necessarily be the runner-up.

He should be there. He got elected last year with .297 16 72 at the break. This year he has .294 21 70.
