We have an office for 6 in one of our shops. Had a 8000 btu window unit for years. It went out and I bought the following off Amazon for $570:

BLUERIDGE BM09Y18
9,000 BTU (.75 Ton) 18 SEER Single Zone Ductless Mini-Split Heat Pump System - WiFi Capable

I had an AC company come over and they charged $135 to hook it up. Inside unit mounted above 6" below ceiling on one end and the "outside" unit is about 10 feet away mounted on the shop wall. You cannot hear anything inside the offices and it holds temp great. No loud fan, no loud kick on of the compressor, etc... Super quiet and basically invisible in the office.

A 9000 btu mini split will handle a 16x24 area all day long. The office area at this shop is 12 x 34 and is open. Ceiling is drop ceiling with R7 or something on top. Our mini split is awesome but we have only had it for about 10 months.

For the size you want, mini spit is not much more and is 100 times better, quieter, more efficient, and less space. I have the mr cool I replaced a window unit with. Replacement Wimdow unit was 600. And no heat. The split with heat was 800. I installed it but paid an AC guy 150 to shorten and bend the tubing as well as pull a vacuum on the system. It works great and can't tell it's running. The window unit was always cutting on and off as well as loud outside.

I did have to run a new 220 line from the panel but if you aren't running a heat pump, 110 is all you need and that's the same for a window unit. It looks good inside and not the all in one vent filter look like a Windi unit.
